How to get your BWCAA Member Internet Site.

We reserve the right to refuse any content for any reason. Call first if you think you may have questionable material.

Minimum package is two pages per member, kept pretty simple so they load fast. The average person is very impatient when surfing the Internet. If your page does not load quickly  they will probably click on to something else.

The initial set up cost will be $50.00. This will include one or two pages, up to three pictures, a simple hit counter if you want one and an e-mail contact link back to you if you have an e-mail address. Maximum size of each page not to exceed 2MB. Additional pages if kept small & simple will be $25.00 per page.

When space used exceeds 2MB  additional fees must be charged. You should not be too concerned about the amount of MB unless you want to use a lot of pictures/graphics. Pictures are very slow to load, best to keep at a minimum. Probably estimate to use about 1 to 1.5 MB per page.

Page upgrade costs would be from $0.00 to $25.00 per page, minimum of $15.00 per page if picture is involved. You will be billed after upgrade is completed and posted to the Internet.

Your page must be deleted if fees are not paid when due. Once deleted, to restart will be same as starting a new site.

All fees are subject to change and all payments will be made to the British White Cattle Association. In addition to helping you advertise your British White Cattle this will be a fund raising project to benefit the Association.

Why should you have a Web Site?

For starters, it's the wave of the future. Today, most every progressive business person (cattle breeder) has one. It's like having an ad agency that never closes. It's kind of like having a business that's open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. All the front runners will be maintaining web pages in the near future.

The Internet is a huge growing audience, millions using it every day. Some current statistics (they change frequently) for BWCAA site are available on line, CLICK HERE.  There might be a prospective British White customers in that group that is from your area.

British White Cattle will sell themselves if you can just get the prospective customer to come and look. The more they see them, the more they will want one.

More BANG for your ADVERTISING DOLLAR. Where else can you advertise at these prices. Changes and updates are quick and easy, less than 24 hours in most cases. It's far less expensive to update a web site than to reprint a brochure.

Webmaster

Some Items to consider for Internet Advertising

Your home page is the first thing people will see when they come to your web site. An inviting opening can include a welcome message, description of your operation and/or a short summary of what’s to follow.

For example, some special event like a Cattle Sale, Field Day, a special animal or happening on your farm. Use your creative thinking in your welcome but remember the ultimate goal is to sell cattle. The home page is a good spot to let visitors know the purpose of your Web site. Tell them up front you have British White genetics for sale. The home page gives visitors an impression of your site's style. It is the front room of your Internet Home.

The second page could be used for additional products, cattle, genetics or whatever for sale but it needs to be kept current. Good to include price if you can.   Including a price will help to establish cattle value in public’s eye.

Extra pages can be added if needed.

For instance you may want a "What’s New Page". You could use this page for any late-breaking announcements or new events you may have. For example, if there has been a change of address/location, or something has been added to your operation, using a new bull or bloodline, etc. You can put that information here. Sold any animals!  Want to thank someone!  Whenever you advertise locally or else where, tell about it here.  Keep it updated, change at least quarterly, remove the oldest items. The most recent changes should be listed first.

Add a "People Page", call it my family, my group or just folks. On this page, you can include information on the people involved with your cattle or farm, and what roles each of them play. You can also include short biographies of each & a picture. Your team/people page is a great place for an overview of your team's activities. If your team has a mission, or a primary goal, you can include that.

" Group Activities Page". You can use this page as a starting point for people who want to learn about your groups work. Maybe it is a local show or field day. You can add short summaries on the What’s New Page and then link to this page for more details on each individual project. If the project has it's own Project Web, you can link to those from here as well.

A " Hobby Page". This is a good place to describe a list of your hobbies, projects or interests. Provide a description, picture, or perhaps a link here.

These are just some random thoughts to get your creative juices flowing. All of us are more creative than we want to give ourselves credit for. Don’t be modest, put those thoughts, I wish and I wants on paper. Let us help you organize them into an Internet Web Site.

In the Very Least you should have a Two Page site. Even better would be your own domain and web site. If you search for a British White Domain name and find that it is owned by Morris Halliburton and not used or in his plans. In most cases he will transfer ownership to you FREE.
