Several of us took a field trip to Field & Alison McConnell's Avalon Farm the day after the Show & Sale. They were getting another nice rain so we didn't get to visit the pastures. So we did a lot of visiting, drank lots of good coffee and still saw some of the British White Cattle, the ones they keep in the house. See picture below.

What do you do with an orphan Calf?
You take it to the house and keep it in McConnell's utility room. It doesn't matter that you have barns nice enough for human habitation.
